Need clarification on your topic header pse: So the green/tan bird used to be the grey one? Or are they two separate models?

If you repainted 839 to 803, did you strip the paint or overspray? How did you remove the pylons?

What about the landing gear and wheel wells? Did you remove these before the makeover?

I'm asking because I want to redo my 834 from the old scheme to the new scheme. :)

i overspray. lazy to strip. And yeah, it is the same model. Just different paint scheme and decals.

For the wheel well, and landing gear, I painted it after i finished with the camo pattern.
Masked the surrounding areas then spray over.

The decals were home made.

The tyres i repaint black with a paint brush.

The pylons were glued down with superglue. So i just snapped them off. Glued them after painting them.

If you arn't as lazy as me, you can dunk the whole thing in oven cleaner or car brake fluid. It will strip the paint without harming the plastic. So good luck to your makeover.

How did you remove the decals on 839 (grey) before the overspray? Sanded them away?

my decals are not really the standard decals that you are using, so I can peel away.

If you haven't overcoat your decals, you can add some decal setting solution and peel it off with a sticky tape.

If not sand it off.

Hi Cmbt,

Can I know which kit did you use? Does it come with the IFR probe too?
Thank you.

I use a 1/32 kangnam F-5E kit. The IFR probe is actually a spare from my A-4 Skyhawk kit. I basicly glued the head to a metal tube.
