have seen this japanese movie on yamato sometime back in 2006.... quite a touching story...no so much of people dying...or blown to pieces...but the human aspects of the japanese sailors how they face war and death and surviving the war when most of your buddies were dead....

2) 血战台儿庄 ( Battle of Tai Er Zhuang ) WW2
3) 闪电战士 （ Lighting warrior ) Sino - Vietnam , lots of artillery shelling scenes, enjoyed the final part when the hero used finger GIRL to comms to friendly for arty counter fire.
