My former platoon mate/bunkmate is going to suffer the fate of 1 man 1 section in a stranger platoon of old birds who are about to ROD. I wonder if he can be swap into more familiar section/platoon where his former buddies are in his new NS unit? Damm haywire cock up issue not solve yet.

Write in to NSAD to request. If he knows the RSM/CO/S3/S1 of the unit he wants to go to, speak to them first before writing in and ask them to grease the wheels

Thanks for the information. Strong bond is very important as we are engineers, but lack of manpower due to ROD issues is really.........

Actually, it is best that your friend talk to his PC etc in the current unit becos at the end of day, it is the current unit decision whether to release your friend or not, if they dun, the other unit more or less will forget abt it.

So if you friend break the change of command and approach the other unit first, it may piss off someone in the current unit and make it more "difficult".

So talk to PC , S1 etc, it will be better , afterall since the current unit is going to be MR soon, that unit has nothing more to aspire for but to serve the rest of the low keys.

I'm still quite new to being reservist and stuff. Actually I haven't even gone for my first cycle!!

Is this a very big problem? As in this "paper" unit thing. Eg, on paper there is this battalion. But its sections or platoons being severely understrengthed etc.
